TWO SITES UNDER CONSIDERATION FOR ALABAMA MOTORSPORTS PARK

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Gulf Coast Entertainment, L.L.C., developer of the Alabama Motorsports Park, A Dale Earnhardt Jr. Speedway, announced today it has narrowed its choice of locations for its entertainment and motorsports park to two sites.

“We've eliminated sites in Baldwin County on the Foley Beach Express from our consideration,” said Bill Futterer, Managing Member of Raleigh (N.C.) sports and entertainment marketing firm PSE-3. “We'll select either the Prichard-Saraland area of Mobile County or a Baldwin County site near I-10, both of which provide excellent access, appropriate acreage, and appear to meet all environmental criteria.”

The decision was made at a meeting of Gulf Coast Entertainment’s Board of Managers in Mobile on September 28. Gulf Coast Entertainment is on schedule to announce its site decision in a November 2 media conference.

Since the announcement of the project on September 12, property owners in Mobile and Baldwin counties have contacted the developer noting land availability.  Gulf Coast Entertainment has reviewed the additional sites and concluded that the two identified sites best meet the established selection criteria.

Meetings have been held with key contacts at the federal, state and local levels to explore ideas that can be mutually beneficial at every level. Conversation topics have included plans to use the entertainment complex as an evacuation center and emergency services staging area.

“The response to the announcement has been great,” said Kerry Earnhardt, eldest of the Earnhardt siblings, and one of the investors in the project.  “I’ve been asked a lot of questions, which excites me.  Drivers from many series have expressed interest in the project, asking about our family’s involvement as investors and the variety of racing we expect to host.  We just want it to be a success.  It’s really exciting to be involved with this type of development from the ground up.”

Details about the Winners Circle program will also be discussed at the upcoming media conference. Membership in the Winners Circle will provide the option to purchase the same seats for all motorsports events.
