ALABAMA MOTORSPORTS PARK JOINS AS SPONSOR OF GOLF AT THE GRAND
Event to Benefit Local Mobile-Area Charities

MOBILE, AL – Alabama Motorsports Park, A Dale Earnhardt Jr. Speedway has joined the array of civic-minded sponsors that will be a part of Golf at The Grand.  A partnership between Celebrities “Fore” Children and Speedway Children’s Charities, the event will be held in Point Clear, Ala. April 26-28.  The event will benefit the Ronald McDonald house of Mobile, AL and other charities of the regionThe three day event will include two rounds of golf, food and entertainment including a songwriters concert, a rock and roll legends concert and a gala comedy show. 

The golf is open to the public at Lakewood Golf Club beginning at 10 am on Friday and Saturday, April 27-28.  Golfers interested in playing should call 251.344.1934.

“Participation in Golf at the Grand makes sense for Alabama Motorsports Park as it continues to grow its brand both locally and nationally,” said Tonia Jackson, a spokeswoman for Alabama Motorsports Park.  “As a member of the Mobile community, the Park and its principals continue to make sensible contributions to the area and its causes.  The partnership with Celebrities “Fore” Children and Speedway Children’s Charities is certainly a worthy cause, especially since it benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Mobile.” 

Alabama Motorsports Park continues to market its Winners Circle Memberships, which guarantee lifetime options to purchase tickets in the section of one’s choice.  There are six levels of membership, with one-time fees from $500 to $5,000 per seat to let fans and businesses choose from different prices and areas, including climate-controlled seating. Only a 10% initial deposit is required with the application, with the balance of payments due prior to the opening of the park.
Celebrities "Fore" Children is a Mobile, Ala., based non-profit organization dedicated to helping children. The former Celebrities "Fore" Children Tournament has contributed over $1.5 million to local children's organizations, including the Ronald McDonald House.

Speedway Children's Charities provides funds to organizations that meet the direct needs of children. From mentoring programs to camps for special-needs children, the organization impacts the lives of children by supporting organizations that work tirelessly to see that their needs are met and that no child is left behind, regardless of illness, social environment or disability.

O. Bruton Smith founded Speedway Children's Charities in 1984. The organization has dispersed more than $15 million and has chapters connected to all six SMI tracks: Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Infineon Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Lowe's Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway.

Alabama Motorsports Park, A Dale Earnhardt Jr. Speedway is a property of Gulf Coast Entertainment, L.L.C.  The entertainment complex is planned to house four racing venues, retail shopping, restaurants, an RV resort, and other venues such as music theaters.  The investors plan to open the complex for racing in the fall of 2009 and to be fully operational in 2010.
